When measles returns to the headlines, parents deserve the facts behind the fear.

With measles back in the news, it is a good time to review some important facts about measles.

It is tragic that the latest measles press release and ongoing media coverage appear to be a politically motivated attempt to distort a couple of deaths that had positive tests for measles but seem not to have been deaths caused by measles.

The trick is to use the words “deaths associated with measles,” with the intent of misleading people into thinking they were deaths from measles. It appears that neither of the two deaths in Pennsylvania in August 2026 was caused by measles. Being unvaccinated for measles has nothing to do with those deaths.

Watch my important interview with the pediatrician in the United States who is most experienced with measles, Dr. Ben Edwards: Measles From the Front Line.

This interview was prerecorded before the most recent news cycle. Here are some of the important facts covered:

  • Measles is basically a rash and a fever. It is probably underreported and underdiagnosed, and it is on the rise because of the relative loss of natural immunity.
  • Vaccine immunity wanes and is not as robust as natural immunity.
  • The two girls who died in Gaines County, Texas, did not die from measles. Both died from inappropriately treated bacterial pneumonia.
  • Vitamin A dramatically decreases mortality from measles and respiratory viral infections. Cod liver oil is a great source of vitamin A.
  • Vitamin C is helpful.
  • Inhaled budesonide dramatically helps when the lungs are compromised.
  • Dr. Edwards personally saw hundreds of children with measles. Their protocol of cod liver oil, vitamin C, and budesonide when needed worked quickly. All recovered quickly, and none died. Breastfed babies did much better.
  • Clarithromycin was used when a bacterial infection occurred in the lungs.
  • Children with measles universally responded to treatment.

Until the MMR can be proven to be safer, the risk from the vaccines exceeds the risk from getting measles.

Steward your immune system. All chronic disease is rooted in inflammation. Modern pediatrics is suppressing cellular immunity, and vaccines are triggering massive antibodies, creating an imbalance in the immune system.

Without vaccines, SIDS deaths would go to almost zero, autoimmune diseases would largely disappear, and children would return to being healthy.

Fear shuts the immune system down. Be bold and have courage to trust that we are amazingly designed. Give the body what it needs and avoid the harmful things.

A Note from Just a Mom

Every time the media speaks of measles, I get an influx of calls, emails, and texts asking me what I would do. If you read Vax Facts, then you know I, nor my child, will ever put another needle in our bodies.

I am struck by how many moms and dads begin to question their decision not to vaccinate when they hear measles mentioned in connection with a death. No parent wants that outcome, which is why so many people become hesitant. The fearmongering is intense, and it is easy to buy into it.

My suggestion is to reach out to someone who understands you and why you are struggling, someone who agrees with you about not vaccinating. If you do not have anyone, I coach on this.
